Mali: Strengthening Financial Resilience to Recurrent Droughts

The latest Economic Update for Mali presents a detailed analysis of the recurrent droughts that have plagued Mali for the past three decades. Mali experienced at least 40 major climate shocks between 1970 and 2020, with drought affecting about 400,000 persons each year and reducing crop revenues by $9.5 million annually.
